Looking for a way that I could open ‘shared’ ical calendar files from my
intranet.
I suppose that I could use the googlecalendar plugin as a starting point
to hack but is there some other plugin that I’m missing?

If you’re trying to parse ical files, there’s the icalendar gem. I’m not
100% sure from your post that that’s what you’re after, though.

appears to be what I am looking for and I installed it yesterday (took a
long time for this message to reach the list). I’m struggling with the
gem but I did join the specific gem mail list at rubyforge and am
working through the issues.
Thanks
