How to call a remote url?

I need to call a remote url. I need to pass in parameters, and get back
the response. If you can just point me to a class in the framework, I
should be able to piece together what I need.

Again, this isn’t for a link for the user, this is more of a web
services style call. All parameters are passed in the url and I need to
get the result back, all through code. Probably the simplest thing in
the world if I wasn’t a noob

Thanks,

Ryan
