How i can know if the Fast CGI is installed?

Hello,

im installing the fastCGI in my server (centos 4), is not possible
compile it and i install it from a RPM, how can know if the FastCGI is
installed??

why i need to change in the .htaccess the line:

AddHandler fastcgi-script .fcgi
for
AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi ???
