HBase and Rails

I’m considering using HBase within Rails. I’d appreciate feedback from
those that are using HBase on the following:

  1. Are you using an ORM?
    a. If yes, which one and why?
    b. If no, how are you interacting with HBase?

  2. Were there any complications/obstacles in developing with HBase as
    the database?

  3. Was it difficult moving from development/testing to production?
