Gtkmozembed on windows

Hi ho  ,

we have a problem using gtkmozembed on Windows. The following software
is installed now:

  • Ruby
  • GTK+ 2.8 (gimp works)
  • Ruby-Gnome2

Did we missed anything?

irb(main):001:0> require ‘gtk2’
=> true

irb(main):002:0> require ‘gtkmozembed’
LoadError: no such file to load – gtkmozembed
from
C:/Tools/Development/ruby/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_re
quire.rb:27:in gem_original_require' from C:/Tools/Development/ruby/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_re quire.rb:27:inrequire’
from (irb):1

It works fine on debian (sarge/etch)

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi,
I think gtkmozembed is not compiled in the windows binaries. I’ve never
tried compiling it on windows so i don’t know if it can work at all.
Have
you tried installing Ruby-GNOME2 from source?

Thanks. But I’ve already know the messages.
I googled and checked all sites as possible as I find.

I understand but since there was not much discussion on this list on the
subject I thought it could be useful to share my kinowledge. I’m not a
prophet so I cannot know in advance what you’ve already read or not

This message was particularly interesting sice it’s from the author of
gtkmozembed itself and says he does not expect it to work on windows at
all.

wow, “good luck”… I’m pretty sure that the gtk version of mozilla
depends on X11…

Yeah, for sure. I wouldn’t expect that gtk widget to work on windows at
all.
