Hello,
What is the best way to get gnuradio on android?
Do I crosscompile, or compile on the device itself, do I use
linux-on-android, etc.
What is the best way, the most efficient w.r.t CPU of the device at
runtime?
Are there any howto’s? Guides?
Please discuss as I am interested in getting gnuradio on a tablet.
Kind regards,
Udo

Hello Udo,
I’m not aware of any mass-usable Android port.
Usually, you don’t compile on the android (embedded) device itself, so
cross-compiling is absolutely preferable.
Please understand that while Android is based on a linux kernel,
the userland is quite different from usual GNU/Linux systems,
thus making porting of complex, multithreaded applications non-trivial.
Greetings,
Marcus

I really would recommend some x86 tablet; I am using gnuradio on a MS
Surface pro, and this is really fun!
