Gem timeouts

I’m suffering from gem timeouts. None of my remote operations are
working now. I deleted the source-cache in hope that would help, but to
no avail.
How can I debug or repair this?

looks like rubyforge is down at the moment.
so pe patient and wait for rubyforge is up and running again.
