Hi,
If I were to use the USRP2 + WBX module to receive FM broadcast
transmissions, what should I do for building a simple wire antenna.
Can I just take a piece of wire, create a loop and connect one end of
the wire to the SMA connectors inner hole, and the other end, wrapped
around the threaded connector ?
Would that do the trick?

Just poke one end of the wire into the SMA connector; leave the other
end
dangling. However, the usual warnings go along with this, and you can
buy cheap FM antenna with a plug for little money.
