Fcgiwrap and fcgi

Hi,

I have been re-installing rails onto Fedora Core 6, and have been
getting an error when trying to compile ruby-fcgi. Whilst googling
around the subject, I have come across fcgiwrap, but can find very
little explanation about what this does.

Is fcgiwrap an alternative to using ruby-fcgi?

Also, I am a bit unclear about the need to re-compile ruby-fastcgi,
when there is a gem version (fastcgi and fcgiwrap) listed and wondered
why this cannot be used directly as a gem install?

I admit to being a bit confused in this area - I’m no expert

Thanks for any enlightenment

I’d highly recommend mongrel instead of fcgi.

Take a look!
