Extract shapes and text from images

Hi,

I would like extract some simple shapes such as rectangles, lines,
circles and text from images.

I know of camellia but that is really not maintained (
http://bit.ly/9tjFIo ). Any suggestions what else I could use for that?

My guess is that you’ll need to ask this on a forum more focused on OCR
and graphics processing. This question is not specific to Rails.
