I got some errors when running gem update to update my version of
ferret on freebsd:

Successfully installed ferret-0.9.1

Did the upgrade really work? It seems doubtful. Any suggestions on
how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Update: I got the same errors installing from scratch, FWIW.
