Ecommerce

Hi Guys,

I’m looking for a gem or extension that could allow me to build an
ecommerce store in which the following are possible:

  1. When a user sets up an account, they should be able to add their
    own
products to the shop. (think eBay.com)
  2. Products listed can be listed as either straight-sale or
    auction-type
    sale.

Thanks in advance.

Do you know about Spree? - GitHub - spree/spree: Open Source multi-language/multi-currency/multi-store eCommerce platform

It’s a ecommerce gem, and there are plenty of plugins on github… on a
quick search I found a plugin for auctions…

Maybe it can be what you are searching…

Good luck,

Carlos Figueiredo

P.s: I 've never used spree_auctions before… so I don’t know if it is
stable or not… I just wanna show you that there are others with your
necessity and also how spree is customizable…

Unfortunately that gem is not maintained.—

Spree is a ecommerce platform well maintened, and customizable…

I 've never tried spree_auction… I just put as example that spree can
also deal with auctions with some customization… Github are plenty of
others gems to help you… if you find any that fit your necessity, let
us
know…

Or if not… it’d great say us more about your necessity. maybe someone
else can help you more if know exactly what you are searching…

Yes, I’ve used Spree before and digging through the docs as we speak.
Was
wondering if anyone would throw out something I hadn’t heard of before
that
would have the auctioning piece included, but it looks like spree is
pretty
much as good as it gets for a good/stable ecommerce foundation, plus
it’s
customizable. Thanks for the chat…sometimes, it’s just about hearing
someone else say it ;-). I’ll also dig into spree_auction a bit more,
just
because it’s not maintained doesn’t mean it’s broken or unfixable.
