Directory upload

Hi

I need to know is it possible to upload whole directory to the server
with Rails? Is there any good tutorials for that? How I could chose a
directory address and send printed it to user… If i use javascript
for printing file address from input id like this:
document.getElementById(‘inputFile’).value it won’t print whole
directory, only file name. Is there way to print whole directory with
javascript or rails?

I think the only way to do this is to zip the directory and then post
it. Rails does not have access to the local hard-drive as such, and
this make it difficult to develop applications that mirror, replicate
of build local directories. There are ways around this, however.

As an example, you could google RAILS and SWFUPLOAD for an example,
which lets you tag as many files as you want from a directory to upload.
This may or may not be what you’re looking for.

I’ve used it to maintain the family photo galleries at home, to upload
application screenshots here at work for a unit test database, or
product photos for a catalog.
