Description:
Fly Inventions is developing a software enabled service targeting kids,
tweens and teens. The revolutionary service which will debut later
this year, combines financial management, purchasing and social
interaction.
Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a superstar Senior Software Developer and will
compensate accordingly. You will lead the development effort of a Ruby
on Rails based consumer Internet application. Initially working in a
small team, must be able to meet an aggressive product development
schedule. We prefer applicants with 1-5 years of experience that are
eager to be part of a startup environment. This is a unique
opportunity for those who wish to directly contribute to the success of
a company.
You will be working on the front end of the site adding features, tuning
performance, fixing bugs, etc. Experience with tuning Mongrel for
performance is a big plus.
Requirements:
• Ruby on Rails, ERB, RJS, YAML,
• REST, Resource-Oriented ‘addressable, connectable’ services design
• Front-end tier concepts:
o MVC
o XHTML/CSS
o JavaScript , AJAX, UJS
o Middle/DB tier elements
o MySQL - table design, query tuning, explain, indexing, import/export
o Page caching, edge caching, reverse proxy
Skills and Experience Requirements:
• Ruby on Rails skills (or think you can learn RoR very quickly)
• Very strong knowledge of html/javascript/ajax
• Linux experience
• Strong knowledge of the Internet and web 2.0 technologies
Experience in customer Internet, software-enabled-service is a plus
• Strong communications skills
Education Requirements:
• CS degree or equivalent experience
