Compiling Nginx on Mac OsX Tiger

Hi,

I am thinking about recycling my goold ole iBook with Tiger into a
mobile Rails development plateform. To be really complete I need to
have Nginx up and running on my iBook. Has anyone managed to compile
Nginx on Tiger?

Best regards,

Why don’t you try it and see what happens?
I am upgrading my Mac Mini to Leopard, and will try to compile Nginx.

Well if someone says that he banged his head for weeks trying to
compile Nginx on Tiger, I might reconsider this. I could install Linux
on my iBook as a replacement for Tiger.

I have already seen someone on the mailing list successfully compiling
Nginx on Leopard.

Thank you Jodok, I’ll dive into it!

Best regards,

Thanks, Jodok.

I just tried it on Tiger.

It complained about PCRE library, but after simply downloading PCRE
file and use
./configure --with-pcre=pcre_7.6

Nginx compiled happily on Tiger.

If you use darwin ports you can do

sudo port install nginx

try

port variants nginx

to see the additional modules available

I have easily and successfully compiled Nginx on Tiger. I will start
playing with it now.
