Bundling in VR

how do you bundle a program in Visual Ruby?

Hello Ben,

Currently, the default way of distributing programs in VR, is to create
a
Gem, if you wish to have an external way method to bundling, such as for
Windows installs, or Mac OS X .app folder structures, you may want to
look
at rubyscript2exe, or ocra (Windows only). On Mac OS X, you simply need
to
bundle your gem files with bundler, and use a program like Platypus that
generates a App bundle for Mac OS X.

Resources:

RubyScript2EXE: http://www.erikveen.dds.nl/rubyscript2exe/
Ocra: http://rubyforge.org/projects/ocra/
Platypus: Platypus - Create Mac apps from command line scripts |

P.S.

RubyScript2exe and Ocra can be installed as gems, via gem install
rubyscript2exe and gem install ocra

I will be setting up a way to “compile” programs into single service
installation packages, and executables for distributing on Windows and
Mac
OS X.

hth,

Mario
