Tom et al,
The “BLACKMAN_hARRIS” window function enum is funny, but new Gnuradio
programmers are going to lose their minds a little bit trying to figure
out
a) why it’s like that (if they don’t know fred), and b) why their code
won’t compile.
github/bistromath:blackman-harris has a patch which aliases
“BLACKMAN_HARRIS” to the same window. Feel free to never use the alias
in
the Gnuradio codebase, but at least others implementing applications
outside the codebase will have a consistent name. Sorry for the lack of
humor.

I have suggested this before, and I still agree.

I’ve forgotten the story on this. I’m sure it’s funny.

Fred Harris insists on his name being un-capitalized, I forget (and
forgive!) his reasoning…or eccentricity.
Ah, yes, I remember now.
I insist that my name be spelled with a
silent Q on every third syllable

Alright, fine! I’ll make the change. We should have done this back
when Martin raised an issue, but I didn’t want to replace it; aliasing
it’s fine. I’ll have this in the tree soon.
And Marcus, you’re a great guy, but you’re no fred harris…
