Beginner in Rails Apps

I have to work on a project in Ruby on Rails, but Im completely new to
this framework.

What its the best way to start and understand the concepts behind it?

Thanks, this is good resource, I forget to mention that the
specification of project says the app needs to be written in Rails 2, I
know its a crap requirement.

The rails guides are good too. The 2.3.x version of those are at
http://guides.rubyonrails.org/v2.3.8/
