Auth_generator 2.0.1 on the way

Dear rails users,

I’ve released a 2.0.1 version of the auth_generator. The
auth_generator offers an admin interface as well as other features
like gravatar support, theme support, a group like support (we call it
domains), and all you would wish from such a generator. It’s used on
website with thousands of users, no problem.

Please take a look. We’ll be pleased to get feedbacks and ideas about
new features. You can use the auth_generator development list or the
online trac.

The auth_generator is available at http://penso.info/auth_generator/

.

Dear Fabien P.

i would like to use your Auth_generator, but it seems your site is down
and i cant get the gem anywhere.

Can you bring your site back on or upload the gem anywhere else?

greets,
gerald

Trying Auth_generator rigth now.

Hi Fabien,

I am new to Ruby/Rails and am soaking up as much info as I can. This
can be a problem with limited understanding of rails, when looking at
all the really neat generators, various gems, & plugins. Knowing what
gems, plugins, and generators will “play nice” together is frustrating
considering all the choices. There’s a school of thought that says
try it and find out! While that has a good deal of merit, I am not a
believer in you much learn from your trial and error. Don’t reinvent
the wheel. Tap others experiences to give you an advantage, or
educated place to start.

Being new to this platform (Delphi/VB Coder by trade), I am using the
crutch of a scaffold (ActiveScaffold) in my first project. (side note:
I like the sortable columns, etc, but find it difficult to
customize). I ran across Hobo that looked interesting. Maybe would
allow me to play in both worlds, crutch/code like a programmer. But I
really would like to work with a “real” project. Tasting the power of
Rails. So here’s my question(s). Needing an admin system with
precisely the group model you have with auth_generator, will it work
nice with say a scaffold generator which builds my basic controllers
that I can customize? (Trestle for example). Will it, for my
understanding, work with ActiveScaffold? Can I customize the logged
in/logout feedback from auth_generator? These are probably some dumb
questions and I may know the answer to the first (of course it will),
but I lack a firm understanding. Your feedback would be very
helpful. Thank you for your time.
