On behalf of the Singapore Ruby brigade, I’m forwarding this to the
Radiant mailing list.
I’ll be doing a very brief introduction to Radiant at this talk. So, if
any of you are in Singapore, maybe you want to come along and support my
presentation, filling in the gaps where I don’t know what I’m saying…
Cheers
Mohit.

Hi folks,
Please take note of the details for the next singapore.rb meeting in
Sept 2007. It will be held on the 27th of Sept with meeting facilities
generously provided by Bezurk.com
Seating is limited to 25 people, so be punctual to avoid having to
remain on
your feet.
There will be a raffle aka lucky draw at the end with
one attendee getting a copy of “RESTful Web Services” sponsored by
O’Reilly.
Directions: Its in a shophouse along Boat Quay, look out for a
restaurant
called “Seafood by the Pier” and you’ll see the Bezurk logo signage next
to
it. Head to the 3rd floor where the meeting room is.
7:30pm Lightning Talks/Announcements
Anybody is encouraged to get up and do impromptu announcements and/or
talks on tiny little subjects. A 5 minute limit is strictly enforced.
7:45pm Brief Introduction to Radiant CMS (Mohit)
8:15pm JRuby on Rails (Sausheong)
8:45pm Raffle
Thanks! It’s the first of what I hope will be 2 talks - this one will
introduce the basics of how to use Radiant as a CMS and also give a
brief intro of how to use the built-in Radius tags and, perhaps, how to
add your own tags using extensions. I don’t think I shall go into the
details of how to add a more complex extension (similar to the
LinkRoll).
The next talk - which I hope will be in Jan (if there’s any interest),
will go more into extensions. Thanks for the support and all the help
you’ve given me in getting me off the ground. I just see this as a good
chance to spread the word
[Not sure if anyone here is that basic, but I added a small entry to
my blog on how to show the dates when creating a list of child pages -
I’m piggybacking this info in this email cos the steps are so simple
that they do not deserve a separate email of their own. The URL for it
is: http://notepad.onghu.com/2007/9/10/radiant-cms-showing-the-date-of-articles

Cheers,
Mohit.
