[ANN] Iyyov : Down-to-earth job control and monitoring

Description
Down-to-earth job control and monitoring.

Blog post: Iyyov

http://rdoc.info/projects/dekellum/iyyov
http://rubygems.org/gems/iyyov

Features

  * Runs on JRuby (no fork or native code extensions)
  * Powerful ruby-based configuration inspired by God
  * Simplified gem packaged daemon launching and monitoring (via
    Hashdot, others)
  * Log rotation with daemon SIGHUP support
  * Fixed and periodic time job scheduling (basic cron replacement)
          * Threaded asynchronous support with mutual exclusion for
            long running scheduled jobs
  * Configuration file monitoring and reload support
          * Automatic daemon restart on upgrade or other changes

BTW, maybe you can find a place in the JRuby wiki to add information
about this?

Looks very nice…I know a few folks will be interest in this, since
many shops that run JRuby apps do so as non-webby services.

Thanks Charles.

Regarding the wiki, sure, sounds great. Looks like Iyyov link could be
added here?

http://kenai.com/projects/jruby/pages/ApplicationsAndLibraries

I created an kenai account (dekellum) but looks like I still need to be
permitted the edit?

Go here:

http://kenai.com/projects/jruby

and select “bookmark this project”. That will add you as an observer,
and you can edit.

And yeah, that page seems like a good place to me.
