Activemerchant UK payments

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a payment processor in the UK that works without a
merchant account (i.e. like Paypal) but NOT Paypal ?

I have been grappling with Paypal for a month on and off and have
decided their support is crap and therefore would like to find an
alternative.

It’s for a small new business which is why having an internet merchant
account is not the preference at the moment. We don’t expect to receive
many payments to start off with.

I have already integrated ActiveMerchant into the application and it
works with the Bogus Gateway. I am also able to transact with Paypal
Website Payments Pro UK but their side is messed up and I can’t get them
to fix it. Hence the search for an alternative…

That one seems like the payor needs an account with them.

I really would like something where

  • it integrates with my site (i.e no redirecting to other web site)
  • payer only needs to have a credit card (i.e. no signup/account with
    processor requiired)
  • it is supported by ActiveMerchant

It does seem to me that Paypal Website Payments Pro UK is the only real
option. Hopefully I am wrong… ?
