There are plenty of websites that you can visit to start learning Ruby.
The ones I used include, but are not limited to:
http://www.whytheluckystiff.net/ruby/pickaxe/html/index.html
http://zamples.com/JspExplorer/content/rubyUG/
http://sitekreator.com/satishtalim/toc.html
http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/documentation/quickstart/
http://poignantguide.net/ruby/
http://pine.fm/LearnToProgram/

after reading ruby introductory material With links given by Raj S…
Pick O’reily Ruby Cookbook and start typing. Its as easy as A,B,C,D…Z
and 0,1,2,…3.

Just start typing examples…as you have already php experience…

Ruby’s seeing a lot of growth, all over the world. You’re probably
thinking about Ruby on Rails, that’s something else than Ruby itself.
Ruby is a language, Rails is a framework. Best thing to do is google
“rails php” for all kinds of comparisons.

Hello,

The Learning R. site has moved from sitekreator.com to my own domain
here

Have fun while learning Ruby!
