I’m going to develop a Ruby on Rails application for selling my
widgets, what to you guys recommend for gathering required info for a
newbie in Online Commerce?!?

How do you rate these books?

I’m afraid I can’t say much from experience, but one plugin I didn’t
see mentioned there that I’ve heard good things about is Active
Merchant:
