Hi all,

I would like to put together a hosting setup for a rails site. I am
expecting 300,000 page views a day ranging from static content to more
db intense inventory results pages. I am planning 1 MySQL server, 2
Mongrel App servers, and 1 Apache web server (to front my setup).

My questions are:
1) Which OS's are recommended? I was thinking FreeBSD or a linux
dist.
2) What kind of hardware would be best for my setup? Beefy web and db
servers and lighter mongrels etc...?

Grateful for any help.

Great thanks. I am going to cluster some machines this week to
experiment. Got a pile of crappy PIII's to test on.
