Ruby on Rails has taken the development world by storm, and has been playing a big role in the new wave of web application development in North America and Europe. However, not much has been said about Ruby on Rails in the United Arab Emirates and in the Middle East. We want to change that reality by getting in touch with other Ruby On Rails developers and enthusiasts, and start spreading the word about this great technology. We are planning to informally meet every the last Thrusday of the month in Dubai. The first meeting will take place on Thursday January 25th at Tamanyan Terrace at the Radisson SAS Hotel - http://www.timeoutdubai.com/bar/review.php?id=294 - in Dubai Media City. Feel free to join us for some beer and shisha. Here are a few interesting news we can talk about during next meeting: * Rails 1.2 will be out in the next few days, so Rails developers have lots to talk about * Discuss Rails applications in the region, like Ikbis - http://www.ikbis.com and MapoCitae - http://map.ocit.ae/ .. Let us know if you created a Rails app. * Has anyone seen any Ruby on Rails book in Dubai? SpinBits wants to support the Ruby on Rails community in the United Arab Emirates and the region. Come meet us and discuss about the things we've been building using Ruby on Rails. Check out the group page at http://spinbits.com/rails.
