Job Title: Full Stack Lead Developer
Reports to: Head of Production and Partnerships
Location of Role: Dundee
About the Role
You will be responsible for the full life cycle of the architecture,
development and maintenance of our web services and web site.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in web architectures, frameworks
and technologies. Will have a passion for web development. An analytical
engineer who can articulate their vision clearly and turn vision into
strategy and execution, motivating their team members and continually
striving for excellence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Define, create and maintain the underlying architecture
• Design, develop and maintain all the YoYo Games websites and web
APIs.
• Collaboration with business, technical and management teams on design
and development.
• Evaluate and optimise for best quality and performance, including
database layout and access.
• Financial system integration with multiple checkouts (www,
marketplace, player).
• Knowledge of usability, human factors, and the UX process.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential skills:
• Excellent and current knowledge of web development techniques,
languages and frameworks
• Ruby, ASP.NET, Node.JS (at least one out of three)
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails
• JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5
• Some of Angular.js, Backbone, Ember.js, React.js (or similar
technologies)
• Linux command line (Ubuntu)
• MySQL, design and optimisation
• Web server configuration (nginx, Apache)
• Amazon AWS expertise
• Relevant work experience in online commerce environments, distributed
systems and/or developing large scale web applications
• Payment process integration (PayPal, Ogone, etc)
• Search engine setup (ElasticSearch)
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management
skills
Education / Qualification
• Computer Science/Web Computing/ equivalent degree
