As the subject, can you help me to find out a Ruby open source project
to join? Any that needs help and is suitable for a beginner.
What have I to know before starting join an open source project?
Thanks in advance.
Hello Ivan,
are you still looking for a project?
If yes, which platform are you on?

Well, at least you are a bit familiar with Windows then.
I you are be willing to use Windows for Ruby coding, too,
then this project may be interesting for you:
It’s all about accessing Excel files.
If you don’t like to code on Windows, I’ve also got an idea
to extract a platform independent part.

Actually, there are a few more projects,
that would make me happy, if they received some support:
-
Improve the writing capabilities to dBase files:
GitHub - sunito/dbf: DBF is a small fast Ruby library for reading dBase, xBase, Clipper and FoxPro database files -
Extend a hard-link based backup tool:
GitHub - fwolfst/anjea_backup: Non-production-ready backups with ruby, rsync, hardlinks and a bit of aboriginal mystery.
Do you have any special fields of interest?
Cheers
Sven
