my application is trying to connect orcale databse using databse.yml
file and getting below error
.we are using jruby.
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect
descriptor

I think this is a problem with your Oracle configuration. Have you
tried
connecting with a different Oracle client, such as Sqlplus, plain Java,
Toad, etc.?
How/where are you configuring your data base connection and what does it
look like?
