Announcement (2017-05-07): www.ruby-forum.com is now read-only since I unfortunately do not have the time to support and maintain the forum any more. Please see rubyonrails.org/community and ruby-lang.org/en/community for other Rails- und Ruby-related community platforms.

It is trivial to get RedCloth to work in irb or script/console. But
when I try to put
code into a rails view or controller it complains that it doesn't know
what 'RedCloth.new'
is or how to 'require "redcloth"'. How do you tell rails to use
RedCloth? Do you put
something in config/environment.rb ? Blah, blah, blah ....

Oh, of course! (45 minutes later!) You restart the web server! This
little "Gem" of
advice should be added to the "Installing RedCloth" section at
http://whytheluckystiff.net/ruby/redcloth/

Feel free to secretly feel superior to me. Feel free to label me
stupid. I cannot be the
only one who stared at the screen and simply decided God was against me
when Rails bitched
at me.
