ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking a Ruby Developer for a
Direct-Hire opportunity in Dallas, TX. The Ruby Developer will drive
the development of application projects for global expansion. The Ruby
Developer should possess strong backend web development to be successful
on the growing Product Development Team. The Ruby Developer will work
with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and other IT staff to
understand requirements, and develop and modify existing applications
built on Ruby on Rails. The Ruby Developer must have considerable
experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate a high
degree of ownership and accountability. Additionally, Ruby Developers
possessing experience with eCommerce, Large Scale Web Properties,
complex integration projects, middleware, as well as WebServices
projects, is strongly desired (but not required).
• Lay the Groundwork for Rails-Based Infrastructure
• Lead Web Platform Development – Managing Auction Creation /
Scheduling / Invitations / Social Sharing, etc.
• Work with Product Managers to Prioritize / Implement New Features
• Work Hand-in-Hand with Other Front-End / Backend Developers
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in the following skill sets…
• Ruby Development
Develop Application Projects for Global Expansion
Rails / Spring MVC Frameworks (familiarity)
Develop / Modify Existing Applications Built on Ruby on Rails
Client-Side Web Technologies – HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript
Hands-On Java Development
• Database Application Optimization – Oracle / MySQL
PREFERRED (but not required)
• JRuby (STRONGLY preferred, but not required)
• Memory Caching Systems
MemCached – General Purpose Distributed Memory Caching System
Apache Lucene – Open Source Information Retrieval Software Library
SOLR – Open Source Enterprise Search Platform from Apache Lucene
• Linux Systems Administration
Linux Administration within Cloud Environments
Amazon Cloud Services
• Social Networking Site Best Practices for Integration
