I am currently working directly with the hiring manager at an
internationally recognized e-commerce company on a unique Ruby
development project.

This position is initially contract with the opportunity of FT hire.
Rates between $90 and $110 depending on level of experience with web
services and/or front end development.

Seeking a passionate Ruby developer that will support critical web
applications that use Ruby on Rails and Oracle technologies. The
candidate must be a self starter and have experience building web
applications. The candidate will support the development, enhancement,
and operations and maintenance efforts for multiple Ruby on Rails
applications. Utilize critical thinking skills to proactively identify
efficiencies, new partnerships or new features.

Required Qualifications:

Formal education or experience in structured software development.
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science preferred.
3-5 years of RoR and web development experience (REST, Web Services,
XML, HTTP).
Experience developing production quality commercial applications through
a full lifecycle of product development, validation and deployment.
Experience with agile design and release methodologies and Scrum
lifecycle practices, or a strong desire to learn including: test driven
development, continuous integration, iterative delivery, retrospection.
Interpersonal skills to collaborate closely with cross-functional team
and to communicate with executive sponsors.
Expert level knowledge and hands on experience working with Ruby On
Rails technologies (Ruby, Rails, Rspec, Active Record, etc).
Strong understanding and hands-on experience working with HTML5/CSS3,
JavaScript libraries (JQuery, etc.) and SQL.
Ability to implement HTML and CSS from mockups.
Experience developing highly interactive applications.
Exposure to large scale systems development, especially enterprise
distributed systems.
Passion for building and delivering high quality products in a timely
manner.
You jump at the chance to sketch, post-it, mind map, and brainstorm to
solve problems.
You enjoy exploring new technologies and ideas for creating compelling
interactive applications.
Responsibilities
Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.
Design robust, scalable and secure features.
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration,
SCRUM, refactoring, code standards).
Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies
into design.
Upon code review, deploying code to EC2 and RDS instance.
Working knowledge of MVC and ORM architecture.
