Here are the next release (2.2.1) plans:

  * Migrate Ruby/GDK3 to Ruby/GObjectIntrospection based bindings.
  * Migrate Ruby/GTK3 to Ruby/GObjectIntrospection based bindings.
  * Migrate Ruby/GtkSourceView3 to Ruby/GObjectIntrospection based
  * Migrate Ruby/VTE3 to Ruby/GObjectIntrospection based bindings.
  * Provide 64bit Windows supported gems.

I am still trying to slowly port all my old code from ruby 1.8.7 to ruby
2.x and current ruby-gnome.

And I will also learn C eventually. Since I have been using ruby since
10 years (but I am a slow learner), hopefully I will be able to
contribute more to rubygnome - it is I think the best GUI project for
