esiste una gemma o un qualche comando per avere la struttura del db in
formato xlm?
Si tratta di un progetto rails 2

xml (ma va bene anche un csv o uml)

qualora il database dovesse essere MySql, potresti provare con il
sempreverde mysqldump:

mysqldump -u db_username -p --no-data db_name > schema.sql

mi ero dimenticato dell'XML:

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/mysqldump.h...

mysqldump -u db_username -p --no-data --xml db_name > schema.sql
