Inkscape will be submitting a request to participate again in this
year's Google Summer of Code (GSOC). GSOC is a program where students
who are 18 or older (as of May 27th) spend their summer coding for an
approved Open Source project and in return receive a stipend of $5000.
Details can be found on the GSOC website:

We are looking for students passionate about Inkscape and Open Source
software in general. Now is the time to develop your ideas and to begin
to plan your project. Details about what is required to apply for GSOC
to work on Inkscape can be found at:

Pay special attention to the required tasks listed on the SOC
Application Template page. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you
are interested in working on Inkscape.
