FireRuby 0.4.0

Actually released the files over the weekend but I’m only getting around
to
being able to make this announcement now…

FireRuby 0.4.0 Released

FireRuby is an extension for the Ruby programming language that provides
access to the Firebird open source RDBMS. The library is written in C
and
provided in binary format for the Windows, Linux and OS X platforms.

The main changes in this release revolve around some updates that were
made to
enhance support for the Firebird ActiveRecord adapter and to provide
information on SQL field types. Consult the README documentation that
accompanies the library for more information.

The library is hosted on the Ruby Forge site here…

The library has been out for a while and appears to have a number of
downloads
from the Ruby Forge site so I would be interested in hearing about what
people
are doing with it. Rather than direct mails relating to this through the
mailing list you can send them to me directly at paw220470 at yahoo dot
ie -
thanks!
