Isitjruby.com is live!

Hey, a number of you asked about getting a site up like isitruby19.com,
and Carl Mercier has done just that!

The site basically allows you to look up your favorite gems, see if they
work on JRuby, and if they’re not listed you can try them out and report
back. It’s definitely going to be a handy site.

Cool, maybe Carl can add a “threadsafe” tag. There is quite a lot of
code out there which runs on JRuby but isn’t threadsafe at all.

And generally I had the idea some time ago that one big matrix would be
helpful:

  • 1.9 compliant?

  • uses C extensions?

  • uses Java extensions?

  • threadsafe?

  • type (gem, Rails plugin, …)

    Oh yeah, all good ideas! You should try to contact Carl directly, I’m
    sure it wouldn’t take much work to add any of these (and threadsafe
    would be especially nice).
