I am looking for most popular ruby on rails applications that are
currently implemented, and also who is using RoR to build new

Check out http://github.com and see what you can find there ... many
repos to look at and learn from. Hop on to the IRC channel and ask
what people are working on.

out of the box and has a growing community.
