buenas.

me dicen por favor cual es la mejor opcion de implementar el
auto_complete en rails 2.2, he intentado con varios tutoriales pero no
logro ponerlo a funcionar, he intentado con model_auto_completer y con
jquery.

si tienen un tutorial les agradezco.

Hola William F.,

no explicas qué problema tienes exactamente, ni qué esfuerzos has
realizado
hasta ahora, ni que documentación has consultado. Basta pensar un
poquito
para darse cuenta que quizás la gente te envíe tutoriales que ya has
leído,
ya que no te molestas en especificar cuáles son estos.

En todo caso, un autocomplete es un proceso bastante sencillo. Cuando la
cadena alcanza cierta longitud mínima se hace una consulta get a una url
de
búsqueda, utilizándola como query. Los resultados, si existen, se
dibujan en
pantalla, etc.

que se me pasaria, gracias.

Gracias Andrés, ya lo probe antes y no es eso, sabes? creo que el
plugins lo baje mal, pues entro al sitio y lo bajo archivo por achivo y
los copio dentro de vendor/plugins/auto_conplete/
no se que me hara falta o sera que ese plugins no funciona el rails 2

me doy cuenta segun google y esta misma lista que implementar un
auto_complete o mas bien poner a funcionarlo, es cosa muy complicada.
seria bueno que los que lo lograron lo documentaran y nos ayudaran a los
que vamos mas pegados.

mira mejor, que sí se puede… básicamente vas a la página de git y donde
dice “download” y “win” te descargas la versión msysGit

a partir de ahí, cuando quieras instalar un plugin que venga de git, la
pinta que tiene la línea de comandos es ésta

ruby script/plugin install git://github.com/rails/auto_complete.git

Si tienes git configurado como una source de script/plugin no necesitas
ni siquiera la URL
entera, pero viendo el pifostio de versiones que hay muchas veces en
github yo casi prefiero
tirar de la URL completa y así me aseguro que estoy bajando lo que
quiero
