Does anyone have a good suggestion for the best editor that can I embed
on my application…
+1 for Textile or Markdown (my preference) … try looking up
rdiscount if you want to use Markdown, I’m sure there are better
options out there.

I have limited experience with FCKEditor – http://www.fckeditor.net/
and slightly more exp with tinymce – http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/
but in my experience the better solution is to use textile →

http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/RedClothsince they are simpler
and then harder for users to break. TinyMCE imho
gives the user to many options and since most people are not good with
layout they often make a bigger mess than if you gave them something
like
redcloth/textile
