mod_rails pour Apache :

Cela nécessite d’avoir une version de Ruby dont le garbage collector
soit plus copy-on-write friendly. Il y a des discussions en ce sens
sur Ruby-Core.

Visiblement ça s’appelle Phusion Passenger et les travaux avancent bien :

Une question qui m’interroge : Quel serait l’avantage d’avoir (enfin)
un tel mod ? Perfo ? Simplicité d’utilisation avec apache (pour pas
passer par le cgi) ? Autre ?

Hello there,

This topic was brought to our attention by a community member and even
though our command of the French language is pretty much non-existent,
webnardnativ of irc.freenode.net @ #rubyonrails was kind enough to
translate the following reply in French on our behalf.

Phusion Passenger (a.k.a. mod_rails for Apache) will provide a simple
solution for deploying rails applications. An easier method for
deploying Ruby on Rails applications will allow for a greater amount of
people to enjoy Rails. Performance wise, it’s pretty much the same.
Actually, according to our benchmarks, it seems to be even slightly
faster than Mongrel. Needless to say, you don’t have to take this from
us as you’ll soon enough be able to try it out for yourselves. :slight_smile:

Translation:
Une mthode simplifie pour lancer rails-sur-apache donne plus de gens la
chance utiliser rails. La performance est comparable, et peut tre un
peu plus rapide que mongrel, ds nos tests. Simplement, Passenger vous
sauvera du temps et des problmes. Bientt vous serez capables de tester
tout a vous-mmes.
