Rails Database Developer

Helium is seeking a strong, self-motivated, database developer to join
our mature team in building our next generation applications using Ruby
on Rails technology. 
Ideal candidates will have spent the past few
years in a team environment building web-based database backed
applications. Experience developing a Postgres backed application is a
plus. This position will work closely Helium Engineering is a small
talented team with concrete skills, using agile development
methodologies in a professional way to produce tangible results on a
regular basis while working hard and having fun. Team members’ skills

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
2+ years experience in Database Administration, Database Development or
Database Architecting.
Knowledge and proficiency in at least one modern computer language
necessary.
Excellent SQL skills
Ability to support mission critical production systems
Strong background of the Server platforms Linux, BSD, UNIX
Work closely with system administrators and quality assurance during
version updates and upgrades
Strong communications skills.
Ability to work independently while cooperating with the overall team.
Ruby on Rails experience would be great, although not required.
Familiarity with MySQL and Postgres.
