Forum: Ruby on Rails I'm writing a blog documenting my first Rails project

Announcement (2017-05-07): is now read-only since I unfortunately do not have the time to support and maintain the forum any more. Please see and for other Rails- und Ruby-related community platforms.

I'm learning Rails by implementing an online version of the game
Pente. I thought I'd blog about the process since I always learn
better when I have to "teach" someone else what I've learned, and it
never hurts to have another resource out there for new Rails
developers. I am also hoping by getting feedback from the community I
can enhance my learning and maybe even spark some discussion.

I started by posting an introductory article linking to the resources
I've found the most helpful, and posting some articles on the design
decisions I made before starting the project. I'll be posting regular
updates as the project progresses. I'll start out doing pretty
detailed step-by-step articles, and slowly leave more up to the
reader. At the end I'll post articles documenting the deployment
process as well. The idea is that if a new developer read the articles
from beginning to end they would be as comfortable with Rails as I
will hopefully become.

I hope you'll take a look! I welcome any feedback and comments.
