# Work in Perth (Australia)

Hi,

I’ll be heading back to Perth in the next few months after a few years  
working for Customs in Canberra.  
Is there anyone here from Perth who can give me a bit of an idea of the  
job market for Ruby work over there?

I am currently in Brisbane at the moment, but I actually grew up in  
Perth  
(moved here a year ago to work on video games).

I am not sure about the Ruby work there, but there certainly are a  
number of  
website development firms. I think there’s a chance one of them would be  
Ruby fanatics. Java is popular, as well as [ASP.net](http://ASP.net).

But if there are any questions you have about Perth in general, feel  
free to  
ask. 🙂
