From this thread on the mailing list
[Does Nginx handle Content-Encoding: gzip ?](http://forum.nginx.org/read.php?11,96472,214266) , it appears that nginx
does not support decompressing HTTP request from a client. The thread
however is 2 years old and am wondering if there have been any changes.
I have not found any though in the documentation.

Thanks for any inputs

Sorry, this is about decompressing a compressed response, while you are
asking about decompressing a compressed _request_ body.

I don’t think this is possible currently.

But why not let your application handle the decompression?
