Hi,

I just need to offer my application user’s means to login to the system.
And be able to assign different roles to those users to protect access
to different views of the application. Typical stuff.

I’m a bit confused when trying to select the most appropriate engines
for that functionality on Ruby on rails. There seem to be several
engines each with its own benefits and problems, and some of them seem
to be unsupported already.

Currently I’m running Rails 2.0.2 and Ruby 1.8.6

I would appreciate any advices you might have regarding the selection.

Thanks.

Of course I could jump into the resurrected Login Engine of Eric
Anderson. But should I as a newbe? 🕶
