I’m walking through the Authlogic Railscast at:

> **[\#160 Authlogic - RailsCasts](http://railscasts.com/episodes/160-authlogic)**
>
> Short Ruby on Rails screencasts containing tips, tricks and tutorials. Great for both novice and experienced web developers.

First, I went to work with scaffold instead of nifty\_scaffold

I just have two questions regarding the tutorial:

1- What does root\_url refer to in the tutorial. I’m actually new to
Rails. So, what is the value I should assign for root\_url?

2- When I try to run the application at the end of the tutorial, I get
the following: [http://pastie.org/1049745](http://pastie.org/1049745)

What should I do to get everything well and running?

Thanks a lot for your support.

1. If you are new to Rails, stay away from plugins untill you work
through a
couple of projects. Work through the
[rails.info](http://guides.rails.info/getting_started.html)
2. Do a project wide search for current\_user method or variable. Do you
see
it defined anywhere? You have a reference to it but it is not available
to
the Rails app at runtime.
