# Update on shoes?

I used to use shoes all the time. I just recently started again and  
realized that when you package an app it looks for [hackeyhack.net](http://hackeyhack.net) to  
download shoes. I’m curious if there is a new URL I can change that to,  
or if there is a new version of shoes up with all the \_why stuff  
changed. I went to github and downloaded the latest version on there,  
but it still seemed to give me the same error:

Hostname not known: [hacketyhack.net](http://hacketyhack.net)

Any ideas?

There has been an effort to pick up the pieces left by \_why:

Fork me! 😃 The code doesn’t currently work, so there’s a lot of work  
to be done here. It’s mostly in place, but… it doesn’t actually run  
programs! That’s kinda priority #1.

Looks pretty bad at the moment, but there’s lots to do! I have hosting  
for it, though, so we can do pretty much anything. The site  
integration is a pretty big part of H-ety-h, so this is a pretty big  
to do item.

Very nice. Well done! I’ve already forked shoes, so I’m gonna try and  
make some minor changes to that if I can. I just need to be able to  
change the download url so when I package an app and select “download  
shoes if absent” it will actually work.

Actually Shawn, your quote from the page is a little old. Hackety does  
actually run programs. The website integration still isn’t there,  
because we  
haven’t re-written the site yet.
