# Top way to convert ost file to pst?

The top way to convert an OST file to PST is using **Microsoft Outlook’s built-in Import/Export wizard** for active files, or a trusted third-party converter such as BetaVare Export OST to PST.

Manual Method to Convert OST to PST

1. Open Microsoft Outlook and ensure your OST mailbox is accessible.
2. Go to File → Open & Export → Import/Export.
3. Select Export to a file and click Next.
4. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
5. Select the mailbox or folders you want to export and check Include subfolders.
6. Click Browse to choose a destination for the PST file.
7. Click Finish to complete the export.

Note: This method works only when the OST data is accessible through Outlook. It may not work with orphaned or inaccessible OST files. This all limitations can be resolved by using tool like **EmailsGuru OST to PST Converter**. It is specialised to convert OST to PST with or without Outlook in your computer.
