Hello,
I have been using Sphinx with Thinking\_sphinx plugin which works well on
local development environment, but once I move it to production (shared
host) I get this error and I’m not sure why

removed\_email\_address@domain.invalid [~/public\_html/linko/current/config]# rake
thinking\_sphinx:index RAILS\_ENV=production
(in /home/linkamed/public\_html/linko/releases/20080924112647)
gcc: No such file or directory
rake aborted!
Expected
/home/linkamed/public\_html/linko/releases/20080924112647/app/models/poll.rb
to define Poll

any ideas?

Thanks,

Tam

Expected /home/linkamed/public\_html/linko/releases/20080924112647/app/
models/poll.rb to define Poll
just means that something bad happened when loading poll. You’d get a
better error message if you ran script/console and typed in
Poll

Thanks Fred, that was the right thing to do and I realized that the
problem is from plugin (validate\_date\_time)!:

not sure why production is giving this error though! I tried on local
host and it worked! Any ideas? maybe I should post new thread for this
issue
